Firstly, a massive thank you to those of you who have taken the time to send me messages of thanks, they really have been appreciated.
As you will have all heard by our Prime Minister has announced today that schools have finally received orders to close all school with their doors remaining closed until further notice for the vast majority of our children. Despite this announcement every child in our school will remain in contact with either their class teacher or another well-known member of staff throughout this period, regardless of how long this is for.
Staff will all still be working throughout this serious global crisis in a variety of ways to ensure that we act as ever in the best interests of our children and their families. As a school we fully appreciate just how challenging the coming months are going to be for all of you and we intend to do everything possible to support you and your children. While I can’t guarantee the best possible academic outcomes for your children I can guarantee that our continual commitment and support to your children will enable them to still feel the same sense of security and sense of belonging to their school community as ever.
While our school may be closed physically to the vast majority of our pupils I will fully utilise every member of staff to work in an appropriate capacity to support our community. This will ensure that you still feel very much part of our school community and that you are able to draw on our support. This will include the office staff who still being available during our usual opening times 8am – 4pm. Please note contact numbers will be changed and I will of course publish these once they have been confirmed. Please keep a watchful eye on our website and emails as this will be where all vital information will be published.
College Town Primary School has always been proud to promote challenge as a motivator and now is a good opportunity to demonstrate this to each and every one of our pupils. I truly believe adversity can lead to opportunity, so we intend to stay positive, focused and as determined as ever to provide the best that we possibly can to each and every one of you.
As ever we look forward to your continued support and will update you regarding the plans for home learning, vouchers and pupil lists within the next 24 hours as promised.
I sincerely hope that this will help you to understand how the school is moving to effectively manage the next phase in supporting all of our families.
Finally, take care, be positive and always be kind in these truly testing times. I am sincerely looking forward to welcoming you back as soon as it is safe to see you all again.
