Badger

Welcome back to Spring 2

It was great to hear everyone's news about the fun things you did with your families and friends over half term.

Spring 2 will be another packed half term, especially as it is only 5 weeks long.  So, here is a summary of what you will be learning.  In Science you will be studying plants, something you showed today that you already have a great deal of knowledge about.  You will learn how some plants grow from bulbs, such as the daffodils outside our classroom.  You will also be learning about seed dispersal, which I think you will find very interesting.  In Maths you have started learning about length and height and I was very impressed with how well you used your rulers to draw lines of specific lengths.  You will then move on to mass, capacity and temperature and carry out some practical experiments.  In English the books you will be reading are called "If all the world were ..." by Joseph Coelho and "Tadpole's Promise" by Jeanne Willis.  The work you did today on "If all the world were ..." was a great start to the new half term.  In PE you will be working on ball skills which is always fun, especially as we will be out in the MSA.  I hope all of this sounds interesting and that you enjoy your learning in Badger class.

Reminders

PE will be on a Thursday afternoon, so come to school ready for lots of exercise and fun.  Remember the PE kit is a plain white T shirt or the school PE top and plain black shorts or tracksuit bottoms and plain black trainers.

You will also visit the library on Thursday afternoons where you can choose a lovely new book to take home and share with your grown ups.

Please remember to bring your reading book and diary to school every day, so that we can hear your lovely reading.

Drinking lots of water throughout the day is really good for you and helps your brain when you are learning, so don't forget to bring in a named water bottle every day.  Everyone in school looks really smart in their College Town Primary School uniforms, but they are all the same, so make sure yours has your name on it.

Thank you
