Buzzard
Welcome to Buzzard class!
Welcome to Summer 1!
Welcome to the summer term! I can’t quite believe we are already here—the year has flown by.
This is a very important term for the children, as they will be completing their SATs during the week beginning 11th May. The children have worked incredibly hard throughout the year, and I know they will all do their absolute best and make themselves proud.
Alongside preparing for SATs, we will continue to follow a varied and exciting curriculum. In Science, we will be learning about light, including how it travels, how shadows are formed, and how we see objects. In History, we will be exploring the Sikh Empire, which is a new and engaging topic for the children.
In PE, the children will be developing their fielding and striking skills through rounders. In RE, we will be learning about how Christians support their local community, as well as exploring different charities within our local area.
It’s set to be another busy and exciting half term!
If you have any questions regarding SATs, please don't hesitate to come and speak to me before or after school.
Reminders:
-
PE day is Wednesday – please ensure your child comes to school wearing the correct PE kit. Earrings must be removed before school, or children must be able to remove them independently.
-
Homework should be completed and handed in on Fridays (as part of preparing the children for secondary school expectations).
-
Children should wear the correct school uniform, including black school shoes. Makeup and jewellery are not permitted, apart from a pair of small stud earrings.
Kind regards,
Mrs Farrant, Mrs Channing, Ms Tait and Mrs Reed
