Welcome to Badger Class
Hello Badgers, a new term brings new opportunities and learning topics that I can't wait to share with you.
In English, we will be exploring the world of poetry! A personal favourite of mine, this topic lets children develop their pleasure for reading in a range of exciting lessons. Badgers will be focusing on the poem 'The Owl and the Pussy-Cat'. We will use actions to help us remember the poem and recite it to others, think about what we might take on an adventure ourselves and write our own poems!

In June, we will start to explore time. Together, we will use the language of time, including telling the time throughout the day, first using o’clock and then half-past. Later on, we will then start thinking about telling the time to the nearest 5 minutes.
In the afternoons, we will be learning about a new topic Geography. Children will learn about the 7 continents of the world, focusing on the human and physical features of countries around the world.
On Thursday we have our PE learning. This term is all about athletics.
- Please make sure your child has their reading journals and a labelled water bottle in school every day and that their jumpers are clearly labelled.
- Our PE day this year will be every Thursday. Children can come to school in PE kit on Thursday and wear it all day.
- To minimise the risk of lost property, we ask that all clothing items are clearly labelled with a name, even PE kit items.
