We have had a busy half term so far!
In topic we have learnt lots about the significant people that have influenced the History of Flight. We have enjoyed our trip to the Aldershot Museum where we learnt about Samuel Cody and his links to the local area.
In English we have enjoyed writing our own Percy the Park keeper stories with our own adventures. We have now moved on to learning about Poetry, focussing on nonsense poems. We have learnt and recited The Owl and the Pussycat, The Jumblies and The Hippocrump. We have created our own mythical creatures and we are now ready to write our own nonsense poems about them.
In Maths we have been focussing on addition and subtraction. We have used our knowledge of related number facts to write different number sentences. We will now be using our understanding of number bonds to help us add on a number line more efficiently.
Please can you make sure that all the children’s uniform, especially cardigans and jumpers are named and that they have a named water bottle in school every day.
Reading books are changed on Mondays, but please send them into school every day as the children may also read on other days.
This year our PE day is Monday and we will be visiting the library on Tuesdays.
