Welcome back after the summer break, I hope you all had a wonderful time and feeling recharged. The children have all returned relaxed and ready for new challenges and they have all quickly settled back into the routine of school.
In English this half term we will be using 'Percy the Park Keeper' to help us create story settings, write character descriptions, write diary entries and create our own stories.
In maths we will be focusing on number; we will be learning about place value and addition and subtraction. Our KIRF this half term is doubling and halving numbers.
In science we will be looking at animals and how they are suited to their habitats. We will also be using our school grounds to find and describe microhabitats. Our topic this half term is the history of flight. We will be finding out about, The Wright Brothers, Amy Johnson and Samuel Cody and their importance to the development of aviation.
Please can you make sure that all the children’s uniform, especially cardigans and jumpers are named and that they have a named water bottle in school every day.
Reading books are changed on Mondays, but please send them into school every day as the children may also read on other days.
This year our PE day is Wednesday and we will be visiting the library on Tuesdays.
