Badger
This week we will be continuing with "We are water protectors", using the ideas from it to help us think about how we can look after bodies of water near to us. For this, we will be looking at the Basingstoke Canal, a place that some of you may have been for walks at the weekend and during the holidays.
In Maths, you will be continuing to look back at the learning you have done since starting in Year 2. So you will be thinking about Place Value - the value of the Tens and Ones in a number and using this to help you add and subtract.
As you learned about Australia earlier this half term, your art topic will be aboriginal art where you will design and make your own aboriginal mask using clay - I think you will enjoy this.
Thursday is going to be a very busy and exciting day with Christmas lunch AND a party in the afternoon. Don't forget to wear your Christmas jumper instead of your school cardigan or jumper on that day.
The first performance of "Baubles" in front of an audience will take place on Friday at the dress rehearsal. You have worked so hard - it is going to be great and I'm sure all the grown ups who come to watch will love it. Don't forget to bring in your costume on Monday. If you are one of the children in the play, then you don't have to worry about that! You're already in yours!

Reminders
Please remember to bring your reading book and diary to school every day, so that we can hear your lovely reading.
Drinking lots of water throughout the day is really good for you and helps your brain when you are learning, so don't forget to bring in a named water bottle every day.
Everyone in school looks really smart in their College Town Primary School uniforms, but they are all the same, so make sure yours has your name on it.
In Year 2 we do PE on a Thursday afternoon, so come to school ready for lots of exercise and fun. Remember the PE kit is a plain white T shirt or the school PE top and plain black shorts or tracksuit bottoms and plain black trainers.
Thursday afternoons are busy and exciting. Not only do we do PE but we also visit the library. So you will be able to choose a lovely new book to take home and share with your parents.
Thank you.
