Badger
Summer term
I hope you have had a good break and enjoyed the good weather.
In English this week you will be using a book called "Tadpole's Promise" by Jeanne Willis to help you in your learning. Before reading the whole book, you will make predictions about what might happen and whether Tadpole is able to keep his promise. You will also learn for the first time how to use an apostrophe to show that something belongs to someone and for a contractions such as can't.
In Maths you will be starting your learning about fractions, understanding that they are equal parts of a whole thing or number. You will work practically in Maths to help you with your learning.
In Science you will be learning about humans and what is needed to stay healthy, including diet, exercise, sleep and cleanliness.

Reminders
Please bring your reading book and diary to school with you every day so that we can listen to you read.
You should also bring a bottle of water with you every day in a named bottle - please carry it separately from your reading books to keep them dry.
Please make sure your school uniform has your name on it.
PE happens on a Thursday afternoon in Year 2 so don't forget to wear your PE kit that day.
We will also visit the library on Thursdays, so if you'd like to change your book, remember to bring it with you. These books are for you to enjoy with your child and read with them. Please note that your child will not necessarily be able to read them independently.
Thank you.
