The King's Coronation Celebrations
Welcome to Butterfly class!
This half term our topic is Growing and Changing. We are celebrating this topic by looking at some of our favourite texts and bringing them to life by developing the children's imaginations in their everyday experiences. We are currently looking at Sam Plants a Sunflower. This half term we will be regularly visiting the environment centre to deepen our understanding of lifecycles and how plants grow. Children will be able to do some planting, digging, weeding and looking after the plants.
In Literacy, we are using the texts to write simple independent sentences using the correct punctuation.
In Maths, we are learning to count to 20 and beyond. Children will be continuing to look at patterns in numbers, build numbers bonds up to 20, how to match, rotate and manipulate the numbers, along with adding and taking away.
In Phonics, we are developing our knowledge of phases 2, 3 and 4 by learning to read tricky words and longer words. Please refer to your child's home learning book for support, along with the Little Wandle website:

Some reminders:
- Please name everything.
- Please bring a water bottle each day.
- Please bring a book bag each day, with home learning.
- Please bring appropriate clothing to suit the weather each day.
- Our PE day is Friday, please send your child in the correct uniform.
