Welcome to Squirrel Class
Well done Squirrels you have been working so hard over the last few weeks, keep it up.
In English we will be will be using the book 'The Hodgeheg' by Dick King Smith to help us with our writing. We will draw and label Hedeghog habitats, create a family tree to understand who the main characters are in the story and also plan and write our own instructions.
In Maths we will be learning more about measurement. We will be using grams and kilograms to help us understand weight and mass. To measure the mass of objects and to compare the mass of objects. We will then move on to using millilitres and litres to measure and compare capacity and volume.
In the afternoons we enjoyed using our Geography lessons to learn about the continents of the world and some of the countries in them. In our Science lessons the children are enjoying exploring different materials and their properties. They will have the opportunity to think about why we choose certain materials to make different items from. They will also have the chance to perform experiments to test some of these materials. In R.E. we will continue to learn about Sikhism and some of it's important events and festivals. In Art the children will explore using different mediums to create their pictures. Our P.E. lessons will continue to focus on athletics.
- Please make sure your child has their reading books and a labelled water bottle in school every day
- Please make sure that jumpers and PE kits are clearly labelled, so that we can help return misplaced items.
- Don't forget to login to MyMaths every week and see what new challenges you have been set. Any problems please let me know.
