Welcome to Squirrel Class
Please can you make sure that any homework the children have completed is returned to school on Monday 19th October.
We have had a busy few weeks in Squirrel class and the children have been working hard.
In English the children have really enjoyed learning about list poems. We have read 'Ten Things Found in a Wizard's Pocket' and 'The Magic Box' and then the children all created their own versions which we performed to the rest of the class. It was wonderful to see the variety of ideas that they had. Over the next few weeks our learning will be based around 'The Enchanted Wood' and we will be building up to writing our descriptions of magical woods.
In Maths we have been using our knowledge of number bonds as well as looking at patterns when adding or subtracting 10 to help us with addition and subtraction problems.
In the afternoons we will be learning about Christianity in our RE lessons and thinking about some of the traditions that Christian follow. We will then be designing and building our own airplanes with moving parts. In music we are still learning about music from different cultures and different singing styles. In PSHE we will be thinking about our relationships with the people around us.
Please make sure your child has their reading books and a labelled water bottle in school every day and that their jumpers and PE kits are clearly labelled.
Our PE day this year will be a Thursday.
We will not be visiting the library until after half term but if you still have any books from last year please bring them in and I can return them.
