Dear Parents,

Please see below for remote learning activities. There are activities for English, Maths, Phonics and Reading, Guided Reading and Foundation subjects.

Please access the remote learning button on the school website, where you will find essential websites that will support home learning. We suggest: Bug Club, Busy things and Times table Rock stars. Your child has their own bookmark with individual log–ins to access these. If there are any issues with this, please contact the school office.

Please email Mrs Salter with any questions:

Please click on this link to access videos for online Maths learning. There is a selection of worksheets that follow on in sequence from the videos, the children can complete at home. Please start with Week 3 and the video is titled 'Make Equal Groups - Sharing'

Here are some optional resources that might help you to support PE learning. There are some suggestions of activities and we would love to hear how you get on with these.

In the dance resources you will find links for video clips showing you how to dance along to the music tracks.

Additional Support and guidance

Starting on Monday 11th January, every weekday  on CBBC you  will be able to see a three hour block of primary school programming from 9am. You may find these programmes useful to support learning with the children.

Welcome to Squirrel Class

Welcome back Squirrels and Happy New Year to you all. I hope you had a lovely break at home, I look forward to hearing about what you have been doing and any presents that you were given.

I am looking forward to all the exciting and interesting learning we will be doing this half term. In English we are going to be focusing on poetry. We will be reading some poems by Robert Louis Stevenson and using them to help us think about rhyming words before we go on to write our own poems. In Maths we will be continuing to look at multiplication and division  and the methods that can be used to help solve these problems.

In the afternoons we are  going to be focusing on materials in our Science lessons. We will be looking at what different objects are made from and why materials are chosen for different situations.   In PSHE we will be focusing on our 'Dreams and Goals' and in Music we will be using pieces of music around the theme of 'I wanna play in a band'. In our PE lessons we will be focusing on gymnastics and thinking about the different ways we can make certain shapes and create our own routines incorporating them.

Reminders:

Please make sure your child has their reading books and a labelled water bottle in school every day and that their jumpers and PE kits are clearly labelled. As the weather gets colder and we are still having to ventilate the class rooms then the children will need to have jumpers in school every day.

Our PE day this year will be a Thursday.

Please still send in any library books you have from last year, we will let you know when we are able to visit the library in school but this will not be for some time.

Thank you,

Mrs Salter
