Welcome to Squirrel Class
Hello Squirrels and it is really lovely to have you back in the class room. It has not been the same only seeing you on the computer and it is lovely to see you all again in person. I am looking forward to all the learning we will be able to do together this half term.
In Maths for the rest of this term we will be continuing to learn about shapes before moving on to learn about fractions. We will be comparing and sorting 2-D and 3-D shapes and their properites before moving on to look at what is a half and what is quarter of both shapes and groups of objects.
In English we will be writing letters and thinking about how characters feel and why. This will be based around the story 'The Day the Crayons Quit'
In the afternoons we will be learning about plants in our new science topic. We will learn about how seeds and bulbs grow as well as talk about all the things that plants need to grow such as water, light, food and a suitable temperature.
We will also be using our PSHE lesson time to think about our relationships with others. We will think about the people that are special in our lives and also how our families are similar and different. The children will also have time to work together and develop the relationships they have within their friends within the class room.
We will be starting our PE lessons again on Thursday 18th March so can children please come to school in PE kits.
Please make sure your child has their reading books and a labelled water bottle in school every day and that their jumpers and PE kits are clearly labelled. As the weather gets colder and we are still having to ventilate the class rooms then the children will need to have jumpers in school every day.
